Just as our salvation was free to us but paid for by the shed blood of Jesus Christ – the golf events we hold are not free. They are free to the participants … but someone has to pay the golf course. So, how do we fund “free monthly golf events” for unchurched and unsaved golfers, AND EXPAND THAT MINISTRY TO OTHER Chapters in other cities?
We do so through the generous support of National Sponsors (who want to see the ministry expand regionally and nationally) , Chapter Sponsors (who want to ensure that the monthly events are paid for, so that unchurched/unsaved golfers hear the Gospel), and through Individual Donors (who want to support the ongoing efforts of the CGA staff missionaries through their monthly support). Sponsors receive recognition of the support at these events regionally or nationally.
National Sponsors see the Acts 1:8 call to go and Witness in Jerusalem, in Judea and Samaria and the uttermost parts of the world. They provide high gift support focused on launching New Chapters in new communities where the Local Churches can partner with CGA to start a new Chapter and begin the process of sharing the Gospel and Discipling those who accept Christ.
These supporters are “Big Picture” supporters seeking to bless others outside of their own community. Think the Church at Antioch.
Chapter Sponsors see the Matthew 28:19-20 Great Commission from Christ and desire to support the golf events themselves where the Gospel is shared; and from these free events see that new believers are provided a basic foundation in Christ and are connected with a local church that shares the gospel message. And as a new believer who may be unfamiliar with many of the terms we Christians use, these local Chapter supporters want to see that new believers receive a foundation in their faith, as well – and are Discipled.
Individual Donors are the bedrock of the Challenge Golf ministry. Through their one-time gift, or monthly support, they provide funds used to pay for those individual golfers who need to hear the Gospel message. Also, just as Missionaries in foreign lands are supported by monthly donors, Individual donors can direct their funds to support a specific staff member, or Chapter.
